Northern Osteotomy Masterclass
Following the success of the course in 2015, the Northern Osteotomy Masterclass is returning to the North of England to continue with innovative and current teachings on osteotomy surgery. This acclaimed course attracts experts from around the globe and provides high-quality training for consultants and the surgeons of tomorrow.
Who should attend
The course is not only aimed at surgeons with little or no experience of osteotomy: we also encourage knee surgeons who regularly perform osteotomy to come and share their experiences.
The meeting has been approved for 12 CPD points.
Clinical case discussion
A key element to the meeting will be these discussions. Both the Faculty and delegates will be presented with a variety of case discussions.
The panel will then discuss the treatment options based on their surgical experience and expertise and then open the floor to debate and discussion. Delegates are encouraged to bring their own cases to the meeting.
The basic principles of knee osteotomy surgery will be covered by the course with topics and discussion centred around 3 themes:
• The role of osteotomy in treating sports injuries
• Osteotomy as an adjunct to additional procedures
• How to improve surgical accuracy
Discussion and debate is a key part of any meeting, that’s why there will be an opportunity for delegates and faculty to network over an informal dinner at St James' Park on Monday evening, where you will be entertained by ex Newcastle and England legend Malcolm MacDonald.
